We’ve been keeping a semi low profile lately as we work on finishing our first full length album at the end of this year. We can’t wait! Until then, we’ll still be playing the occasional gig, which we’ll be sure to tell you about on social media and our show calendar. We want to share a little of what we’ve been working on with you!
Otherwise, here’s some additional updates:
1) Fans of Alex Long’s smooth vocals can watch him sing at Rise Bar NYC every Tuesday night (except the 21st – but before and after that you’re golden!). He’s trying to get us money for a super secret awesome project, so if you vote for him he could win $1,000. Come out and hang out with us!
2) We will be providing music for another Underground Magazine party in the future. The date is yet to be announced but we will keep you posted.
3) We have a surprise coming up for you. Check back here for an update soon. 😉

We’ve been hard at work over the past few months playing shows across the city, all the way from Bushwick to the ‘burbs and in between.
While we’ve got a big show coming up next month (we’ll announce officially once the venue is confirmed), we’ve decided to take a break from playing out in order to work on our first full length album.
We’ve started recording and while there’s much to be done still, we wanted to at least share a small clip of what’s to come. Enjoy, and let us know your thoughts via email or social media (or in that contact form in the menu up above – don’t be shy, say hi!).
Until next time,

It’s been a while since we’ve posted, but we have just made our return back to NYC! It’s where I was born and raised and where Charlie and I first met. From museums to graffiti, rap to classical, ramen to chowder, you name it, we’re pumped to return home! It’s also home to some of the most influential artists on the planet and rich in history. Poets of the Harlem Renaissance such as Langston Hughes and mainstream icons like Jay-Z all got their start in New York and we hope to one day put our name down beside them (though we technically started the project while living in Boston – don’t tell anyone!).
All that being said, we already miss Florida. We made some incredible friends and got to play along some terrific bands while living there to write and record our first EP. While we’ll miss you all (and the weather – it’s currently snowing here), we’ll be sure to drop down there again in the future. If you’re in the New York area sometime this year, be on the look out for future show dates. We’d love to say hi!

What could be better than a new single? An entire album.
Here it is in its entirety below. It’s also available on iTunes, Spotify, and for sale at all of our shows if you want to own it for yourself, or if you’re looking for an excuse to just give us money. We’re totally into that.

Hey all! It’s been a while since our last update, but we’ve got really exciting news – our first EVER single drops at the end of this week!
That’s right, we finally have recorded music to share with you guys! This Saturday, August 5th, we’ll be dropping our first single, “Corner of a Dark Room”. As scary and depressing as it sounds, it’s a fun song, we promise. In fact, you’ve probably found yourself tapping your foot along to it at our live gigs already.
This is just the first of many releases to come. We’ll be announcing the release of our EP Mad Casual shortly after releasing the premiere single, so if one song just isn’t enough for you, don’t you worry your sweet little head.
Oh, and if you want the song absolutely free, make sure you like us on social media – we’ll be giving away our single for free to one user on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Like all three for the most chances to grab it! Or, if you feel like buying us a piece of bubble gum, you could also just pay 99 cents on iTunes.
Ok, that’s it for now! We’ll update you again on Saturday with everywhere to find the single. If you’re in the south Florida area, check out our single release party at Coffee Bar Blue Door on August 5th at 9pm. Until then!

Greetings Music Peeps!
This is my first blog post and I’m excited to share with you guys that our First EP will be coming out this August! Grab a drink, sit back, and kick it to our upcoming single “Corner of A Dark Room” and some of our other favorite songs to perform! In addition to our single, this EP showcases our sound with unique elements atypical of our live performances; a different side of us if you will. Also included is a Frank Ocean cover of “Sweet Life” to pay tribute to an artist we admire as well as aspire to emulate in our compositions.
Now to shed some light on our single, it’s a song that I think will resonate with a lot of people, especially my fellow millennials, during this time of global trial. Most would agree that the struggle of living in the “Capitol” aka. any 1st world nation, is a mental struggle, and “Corner of a Dark Room” attempts to paint a picture of what it’s like to combat our inner monsters holding us back from our true potential. We’re all fighting our individual battles, and we gotta hold out to see the light at the end of tunnel that we’ve been chasing all along. Here’s a clip for your enjoyment straight from the studio (click the arrow on the side of the picture to listen to the clip)!
Once again, we appreciate all the love and support from family, friends, and new fans, and are super excited for the upcoming release of our EP! We look forward to seeing people at our live shows and check our dates for when we might be coming to a venue near you!

Well, it’s been exactly a month since we launched this site, and though things may not have changed much on the surface, there’s a LOT going on down below.
Last weekend, Alex and I spent all of our time in the studio recording our upcoming EP Mad Casual. The tracks are currently still in the engineering process and will be ready to debut in a few months. In addition to our original material, we’ll also be including one cover track. Obviously we’re having trouble containing ourselves but we’re trying to practice being patient – you’ll learn which songs we recorded a little closer to the EP’s release date.
In some also exciting (and much closer to being released) news, we just had our first photo shoot last week with the insanely talented Ryan Merrill and will be showing you guys some of those photos this coming week! If you can’t wait, here’s a sneak preview of some of the shots:
We can’t wait to show you the rest, but you’ll have to wait until they’re all ready! Check back next week for more updates, and if you can’t wait that long, come hang out with us at coffee bar Blue Door in Stuart, FL this Thursday at 8pm!

Hey guys! Welcome to the official website of Syntext! Who are we, you ask? Well, assuming you’ve never seen one of our shows before, we’re an electronic jazz pop duo. I’m Charlie, the producer and bass player, and my bandmate Alex sings and plays saxophone!
This site is slowly building content, but we encourage you to click around and check out what we currently have so far. Who knows, if you have a cool video or picture we might just put it up online! Keep coming back for more updates as we continue to build our music, picture, and video catalogs. If you’re lazy and only want to come back there’s guaranteed new stuff for you to click through, a little birdy told me that something exciting may be coming in mid April. 😉
Though, then again, maybe he told me to get the hell away from his breadcrumbs and his bird friends, I don’t know, I don’t speak bird.
